Darmstadt 2012: Pauline Oliveros 80th Birthday Celebration

For years now, the cultured radicals behind the Darmstadt series have grappled with a seriously befuddling issue: How do you foster a new-music canon that incorporates the radical visions that flourished during the late 20th century? Of course, stating it that way is far too ponderous to express the congeniality and whimsy of this vital program. Darmstadt launches with a salute to maverick composer and Deep Listening guru Pauline Oliveros, featuring performances by Jason Hwang, Alex Waterman, Fast Forward, Jim Alteri and others.
