The hip-hop record label has come a long way since its early days in Rick Rubin's NYU dorm room. Tonight, the imprint celebrates three decades of boom bap with a lineup of mostly new-school artists: Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, DMX, Fabolous, Foxy Brown, Jhené Aiko, Onyx, Method Man, Redman, Ashanti, Ja Rule, Warren G, EPMD and Jeremih are all on the bill. Personally, we wouldn't mind a few more old-guard acts like LL Cool J, Beastie Boys, maybe even the label's only metal signee, Slayer (don't hold your breath).
