Dig Deeper: Lonnie Lester

As usual, the good folks behind the retro-minded Dig Deeper series have unearthed a gem: Indianapolis soul veteran Lonnie Lester, a record collector’s favorite who’s never played the Big Apple before. He’ll be in good hands here, backed by Dig Deeper’s house ensemble, the Brooklyn Rhythm Band. Resident spinners DJ Honky and Mr. Robinson, along with special guest Brian Proust (from the Georgia Soul Recordings website) spin the pre- and postset tunes.
