Dig Deeper: Sugar Pie DeSanto

As usual, the good folks behind the retro-minded Dig Deeper series have booked a doozy of a headliner: thoroughly badass Filipino–African-American septuagenarian R&B shouter Sugar Pie DeSanto, who scored a hit 50 years ago with "I Want to Know." She’ll be in good hands at this Dig Deeper sixth-anniversary bash, backed by the showcase's house ensemble, the Brooklyn Rhythm Band. Resident spinners DJ Honky and Mr. Robinson spin the pre- and postset tunes.
