Time Out says

In a mere six years, Dave Longstreth has gone from writing obscuro concept albums about Don Henley to composing for Björk and David Byrne and having his songs covered by Beyoncé’s little sister (check out Solange’s “Stillness Is the Move”). Last year's album, Bitte Orca, found Longstreth's Dirty Projectors combining multilayered harmonies, R&B beats and Zep-style riffs. What’s more, the band can pull it off live. Among all the young indie singer-songwriters who have veered into classical territory, Owen Pallett could be considered the conductor of the Indie Orchestra. Formerly known as Final Fantasy, Pallett finds his strength in his arrangements; his songs can be airy yet intricate.
