New Brunswick independent punk label Don Giovanni mounts its annual showcase. Headlining on Feb 7 is quirky local folkie Laura Stevenson, who has a nice girl-group-gone-indie vibe—prominent on last year's Wheel. Also on deck: lovably scruffy DIY folk-punk institution Shellshag; L.A. four-piece Upset, a new outfit created by Ali Koehler (former drummer for Vivian Girls and Best Coast) and ex-Hole drummer Patty Schemel; jangly, swaggering garage-pop standout Nude Beach; and scrappy punk quartet Worriers.
