Émilie Simon is an IRCAM-trained electronic musician with real pop chops who wrote a wonderfully bizarre original score for March of the Penguins that was traded for a far-inferior one when the movie conquered America. Her latest album, The Big Machine, showcases an artful electropop style that can be reminiscent of Kate Bush's prime.
