Erik Lawrence, Rene Hart, Ziv Ravitz

The recently founded Honey Ear Trio (saxist Erik Lawrence, bassist Rene Hart and drummer Allison Miller) offers an eclectic yet cohesive catalog of various approaches to the 21st-century saxophone trio: wistful, groovy, choppy, hard-swinging and much more. Absent tonight are both Miller—Ziv Ravitz subs on drums—and the Honey Ear moniker, but you can safely expect a similar brand of improvisatory goodness.
