Faruq Z. Bey with the Northwoods Improvisers

Reedist-composer Faruq Z. Bey has held down the fort in Detroit for the better part of four decades, helping to cultivate a progressive-jazz scene in a city better known for its bebop. Bey makes a rare local appearance this week, bringing his searching, globally informed Northwoods Improvisers ensemble to Issue for two nights.
