Oxford, England's Foals takes the basic Brit-dance formula set forth by Franz Ferdinand and the Maccabees and expands on it exponentially. Its production finds weight in ruminative songs held up by string sections, digital squeaks and a touch of math rock. Opening are Freelance Whales, a Queens band that makes the right combo of catchy, string-based indie folk, and the Naked and Famous.
