Frode Gjerstad Trio + Travis Laplante Quartet

I-Beam hosts a handsome avant-jazz outing featuring a pair of reedists: Norwegian veteran Frode Gjerstad, making a rare NYC appearance, headlines at 10pm with a trio including drum star Paal Nilssen-Love (also of the Thing) and bassist Jon Rune Strom; Travis Laplante, known for his cathartic solo performances and his work in Little Women, opens at 8:30pm, fronting an all-star band with violinist Mat Maneri, bassist Michael Formanek and drummer Randy Peterson.
