Eccentric Baltimore synth-pop crew—whose athletic, disarmingly emotive vocalist, Samuel T. Herring, is one of the most transfixing performers on the planet—hits Brooklyn for a round of gigs behind its affecting latest, The Far Field. The album hasn't garnered the same praise as 2014's Singles, but it's a worthy effort just the same, continuing the band's trusted recipe: equal parts hope and grief, airy synths and chugging rhythm. And besides, anyone who's seen these gents live knows that's where the true magic lies anyhow.
