Though he's only released an EP to date, Austin singer-guitarist Gary Clark Jr. has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the past year, earning comparisons to Jimi Hendrix, performing at the White House with Mick Jagger and generally melting minds with his funky-sexy blues wizardry. He shares a top-notch bill with Louisiana quintet Givers, whose swamp pop bubbles with polyrhythmic percussion, zingy guitar fills, and call-and-response vocals, and Brooklynite Alice Smith, an impressive neosoul singer-songwriter whose silky flow recalls Alicia Keys's tones.
