George Cables Trio

A modern-day piano giant classically trained and then schooled on the bandstand by masters such as Dexter Gordon, Joe Henderson and Freddie Hubbard, George Cables leads a combo with bassist Essiet Essiet and drummer Victor Lewis. Cables is in excellent form these days, as heard in his recent work with all-star group the Cookers and on Icons & Influences, a sparkling set of tribute pieces issued in 2014.
