George Lewis: Afterword, The AACM (as) Opera

Trombonist, composer and Columbia University Professor of American Music George Lewis literally wrote the book on the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians; his A Power Stronger Than Itself: The AACM and American Experimental Music is the definitive volume on the venerable Chicago / NYC collective of radical composer-improvisers. He now reframes that story in opera form, in a concert version by the International Contemporary Ensemble before a fully staged version in Chicago in the fall.
