After years of label woes and personal hardships, ex–Hüsker Dü man Grant Hart is finally getting his due. The subject of a 2013 documentary (Every Everything), Hart landed on a legit label, Domino, which issued 2013's The Argument, a sprawling concept-based double LP and his boldest offering yet. The album channels Milton's Paradise Lost into a theatrical revelation featuring Hart’s still-majestic pipes and glistening ’60s-styled hooks. Expect to hear outstanding cuts like “Morningstar” and “Sin” here, along with plentiful Hüsker gems. Also on board is bassist-composer James Ilgenfritz, presenting an ambitious project of his own, the William Burroughs–inspired opera The Ticket That Exploded.
