Greg Osby Quartet

Nobody saw it coming during his early years, but Greg Osby has become one of the most important bandstand pedagogues in jazz, an Art Blakey for postmodernists whose group has spawned Jason Moran, Stefon Harris, Harold O'Neal, Nir Felder and Sara Serpa. We can't tell you who's in the band he's working with this week, but one thing we do know: Osby's effortlessly progressive whatever the setting.
