Atlanta quartet Gringo Star sounds nothing like the Beatles, or even Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band—rather, the group recalls gritty American sounds of the ‘70s. Opening up, Brooklyn's Soft Black (not to be confused with Small Black) makes pleasingly rustic rock & roll.
