Halloween Is Happening

Time Out says

Blood, gore and chain saws may give your tween nightmares, but a viewing of the 1920 classic The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari will just induce pleasant chills. The film, which screens at 7pm, provides a stylish, silent dose of spookiness for the whole family. Organist Robert Ridgell furnishes live accompaniment on Trinity’s virtual pipe organ, making up for the eerie absence of spoken word. Tykes too young for the flick can stop by the church from 4 to 6pm to make crafts, have their faces painted, snap shots in a photo booth and hear stories about the locale’s history from live ghosts. Don’t worry: These spirits are friendly. From 5 to 7pm, parents are invited to join their youngsters for cocktails (both alcoholic and not), with accompanying live music. Ages 3 and up (afternoon); ages 10 and up (evening).
