Celebrating the opening of its New Galleries for the Art of the Arab Lands, Turkey, Iran, Central Asia and Later South Asia (phew!), the Met mounts a musical extravaganza. Kicking things off on Sat 29 are Morrocan gnawa master Hassan Hakmoun and Pakistani Sufi vocalist Qawal Najmuddin Saifuddin, each representing his country's devotional spirit. Both return for a family-oriented matinee on Sun 30; see Tablaphilia on Mon 31 for a related event.
