Hayes Carll + Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit + Shovels and Rope

The gruff Austin singer-songwriter Hayes Carll recently released an album on Lost Highway called KMAG YOYO—which in the military means "kiss my ass, guys, you're on your own." Words to live by, in our opinion. His music has a cool Americana vibe—that title track nodding to "Subterranean Homesick Blues." Jason Isbell used to play in the gritty rock band Drive-By Truckers and now makes Southern-tinged singer-songwriter pop with his new band, the 400 Unit.
