Hikashu + Tomoe Shinohara

Best known in New York as a radical vocal improviser who hobnobs with John Zorn and makes ecstatic, unpredictable records for the Tzadik label, Makigami Koichi leads his unruly avant-pop outfit Hikashu in its U.S. debut performance; admirers of downtown NYC combos like Material and Ambitious Lovers are strongly urged to take heed. Along for the excursion is a special guest: flamboyant Japanese singer, actress and fashion icon Tomoe Shinohara (a.k.a. Shinorer), whose voice will be familiar to devotees of the anime series Kodomo no Omocha.
