Years ago, Hot Hot Heat looked poised to be that perennial summer group, popping in with a new jangly punk song that acted as dance fuel every so often. But, even despite the awesomeness of 2002’s “Bandages,” the narrative never quite played out that way. Tonight the band continues its May residency at Public Assembly, prepping for the release of new LP Future Breeds, out on Dangerbird Records June 8.
