Hull, one of NYC's best underground metal outfits, is aptly named: Onstage, its five members bring to mind a group of burly oarsmen, churning through their riffs in borderline-heroic unison. The band's home turf is the dire trudge of doom metal, but white-knuckle thrash and lyrical interludes are also essential to the mix.
