Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey + Hess Is More

Tulsa's Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey started out as yet another young jazz-rooted combo trying to bum-rush the jam-band circuit in the wake of Medeski Martin & Wood's freak success. But the band has focused its sound on moody electronics in the style of Aphex Twin and Burial, among others. Opening is the superfun New York band Hess Is More, a strange avant-pop group that pivots around drummer-singer Mikkel Hess.
