Originally known as an improvising violinist, Jenny Scheinman has since taken the time to establish herself as a singer and songwriter. She's planted her flag firmly in improv-land again lately, but you'll notice a strong line of melody, evocation and emotion running through everything she plays. For her latest Vanguard engagement, Scheinman has lined up choice company: Jason Moran at the piano, Greg Cohen on bass and Rudy Royston behind the drums.
