The secret to Jim Campilongo's success isn't merely that he's a dazzling guitarist who can make his signature-model Telecaster sing. It's that he plays like someone who genuinely loves singers, even when he isn't working with one. With his Monday-night Living Room residency running five years and counting, Campilongo and his stellar bandmates (bassist Stefan Crump and drummer Tony Mason) are joined tonight by a special guest, jazz-rock keyboardist Erik Deutsch, who has worked with Charlie Hunter. In support is the reliably great Tony Scherr; still best known for his bass work with Sex Mob and Bill Frisell, Scherr also sings and plays guitar in his own, excellent trio.
