John Doe: Americana

On and off for more than three decades, John Doe has shared the stage with Exene Cervenka in X—for our money, the one great band to come out of Los Angeles punk. In his recent solo work, Doe has come to embody a dusty Americana troubadour, most recently unveiled on the 2009 album Country Club.
