JS 30: Three Decades of John Schaefer

You can't talk about music in New York without eventually beginning to gush about WNYC's John Schaefer. For the past 30 years, as host of seminal shows like New Sounds and Soundcheck, he has scoured the city to bring us its most original musical acts. Tonight some of his favorites like Steve Reich, Laurie Anderson, We Are Augustines, Simone Dinnerstein and Ethel gather to honor him as part of WNYC's monthlong Schaefer fest, JS 30.
