Junip + Quadron + Barbarossa

As pretty as José González's solo material is, one got the sense from his rather polite second album that he was a prodigiously talented dude in need of a bit of direction. He may very well have found it in Junip, his current collaborative project. The music is still soft and acousticish, but backed by Can-style motorik beats, with González singing through a peachy fuzz. Tonight the band is sure to play behind its new, self-titled disc.
