The Erstwhile Records festival at the Stone surges into deep-listening space this week, starting with a reunion of two of the most prominent figures in electroacoustic improvisation: British tabletop-guitar guru Keith Rowe and Japanese no-input mixing-board maestro Toshimaru Nakamura. Valuing surprise above comfort, these seasoned collaborators routinely touch on the sublime. Opening at 8pm is the Dolphin, a collaborative quartet featuring Joe Foster of the duo English.
