The flirty, sly, dark-elfin Australian baritone Kim David Smith leads listeners on a Weimar-inflected tour through the Weltschmerz-soaked oeuvre of Teutonic titan Marlene Dietrich to mark the release of his new live album, Mostly Marlene, which was recorded at Joe's Pub last year. Tracy Stark is at the keys, and Sidney Myer and Bright Light Bright Light by for guest appearances. Along with Dietrich's signature songs (mostly by Friedrich Hollaender), the set includes the title tune from Cabaret and selections from the oeuvre of Smith's fellow Aussie Kylie Minogue.
