On Apr 7, soprano Núria Rial joins Christina Pluhar and her period-instrument players in a program of arias by the 17th-century Italian composer Cavalli. L'Arpeggiata's set on Apr 8 focuses on the group's improvisational approach to items from Purcell's catalog, including the gorgeous Music for a While. (You can check out Pluhar's jazzy arrangement of Strike the viol" on the ensemble's album for Warner Classics.)
