Le Grand Macabre

György Ligeti’s creepy, kinky opera gets the New York Phil treatment with a twist: in addition to being played by New York's finest (led by Alan Gilbert), director and designer Doug Fitch will stage the phantasmagoric work within the confines of Avery Fisher Hall. Add a cast of soloists including Barbara Hannigan, Kiera Duffy, Jennifer Black, Renée Tatum, Anthony Roth Costanzo and Eric Owens, and you've got a death-defying night at the opera.
