Leroy Jenkins: Coincidents

Conductor Chris Berg, pianist Myra Melford and a trio of vocalists present scenes from Coincidents, a multimedia opera that violinist and composer Leroy Jenkins was working on when he died in 2007. Created in collaboration with librettist Mary Griffin and visual artist Hisao Ihara, the piece deals with the effects of mass migration on individual identity and family bonds: a heady topic to which Jenkins surely was suited.
