Devendra Banhart and Phosphorescent collaborator Jana Hunter's band Lower Dens crafts shoegazey, colorfully off-kilter pop songs on its debut LP Twin-Hand Movement, out now on Banhart's label, Gnomonsong. The group shares a Cake Shop bill with Brooklyn's Inoculist, a band that plies slow, sad indie rock, and Air Waves, who perform unassuming folk-pop songs that partake of a bittersweet nostalgia.
