Lyle Lovett can shuffle through American music genres with well-trained ease. Few of his contemporaries can switch from Count Basie swing to mournful gospel and then add a prison spiritual as if searching for bonus points. With him tonight is guitarist John Hiatt, who has been around the block—and then some. Playing for close to 40 years, he's mingled in rock, blues and country, and been covered by everyone from B.B. King to Bob Dylan. Tonight, the pair play acoustic, taking the stage together to alternate songs.
