Mahavishnu Project

Beatles cover bands are a dime a dozen, but it's not every day you get to hear classics by the Mahavishnu Orchestra—by far the most ripping of all vintage fusion acts—reproduced live with flair and virtuosity. (Plus, Mahavishnu principal John McLaughlin is fully down with the Project, so you know that drummer Gregg Bendian & Co. have their chops in order.) Tonight's set focuses on the groundbreaking early releases The Inner Mounting Flame and Birds of Fire, as well as the later Visions of the Emerald Beyond.
