Make Music New York

This daylong musical celebration of the winter solstice will feature 13 free, musical parades around the five boroughs, including a march of harmonicas at 2pm outside 1 Liberty St.; Ukelele caroline at Washington Square Park at 2pm; a "renegade parde" of street band music at Staten Island Borough Hall at 3pm; a Jingle Train trolley that'll loop around Harlem from 125th to 116th streets, starting at 4pm; a solstice sing along at Kensington Plaza led by local musicans at 5:30pm; and a High Line "sound walk," which will use paraders' smart phones as speakers and to trigger twinkling metallic sounds, electric guitar chords and more at 6pm.
