It's not quite the second coming of rock, as Nick Hornby would have it, but Pennsylvania's Marah has an endearingly rootsy sound, with scruffy harmonies in all the right places and a vibe that manages to combine urban grit and rural laziness. Here, the band presents a set of diverse, immersive folk, in keeping with its latest release, Mountain Minstrelsy of Pennsylvania, inspired by an obscure 1931 songbook of the same name. (Look out for an appearance by an eight-year-old fiddle prodigy named Gus.)
