Still best known for his early-'90s hits "Walking in Memphis" and "True Companion," soulful Cleveland singer-songwriter Marc Cohn released the all-covers disc Listening Booth: 1970 a few years back.We have no problem whatsoever with the idea of hearing songs like "Wild World," "Maybe I'm Amazed," "The Tears of a Clown" and "Into the Mystic" respun in Cohn's sandy tones. He's joined July 24 by rustic-yet-modern folkie Allison Moorer and July 25 by Gabriel Kahane, whose new Los Angeles–themed Sony Masterworks set, The Ambassador, recalls classic Paul Simon in its blend of approachability and striking sophistication.
