Natividad "Nati" Cano, born in 1933 to day laborers in Jalisco, has become one of the world's most important figures in the preservation and extension of the mariachi tradition. His long-running band, Mariachi Los Camperos, attracts enthusiastic crowds throughout the U.S., Mexico and points well beyond.
