Maestro Valery Gergiev leads the venerable Russian outfit in all six of Tchaikovsky's symphonies over the course of three concerts. Thursday night features No. 1 and No. 6 (the famous "Pathétique"), with Nos. 2 and 5 on Sunday, and Nos. 3 and 4 on Monday. Tue 11 features 2011 Tchaikovsky Competition gold medalist Daniil Trifonov playing the composer's instantly recognizable Piano Concerto No. 1 on a program that also includes Shostakovich's frantic Symphony No. 1 and "Three Pieces" from Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet.
