Cornelia Street Café hosts the intergenerational summit meeting of two avant-jazz luminaries: 71-year-old bassist Mario Pavone and 32-year-old drummer Tyshawn Sorey. For the 9pm set, the duo is joined in turn by alto saxists Mike DiRubbo and Pete Robbins; at 10:30pm, Sorey holds down the drum chair in Pavone's Quartet Axis, also including pianist Craig Hartley and guitarist Michael Musillami.
