Mario Pavone's Arc Quartet + Michael Musillami Trio

The work of Mario Pavone bridges the dissonant, structurally open world of the avant-garde and the pulsing, swinging accessibility of jazz tradition. At 9:30pm, the bassist-composer leads a quartet featuring multi-hornman Dave Ballou, pianist Angelica Sanchez and drummer Pheeroan akLaff. At 7pm, guitarist Michael Musillami, whose work engages a similarly wide stylistic spectrum, leads a trio with bassist Joe Fonda and drummer George Schuller.
