Bass virtuoso Mark Dresser plays the fulcrum in two disparate trios, each including a unique mix of players and styles. The early show features an ultra-rare local appearance by Russian percussionist Vladimir Tarasov, who for years anchored the brilliantly anarchic Ganelin Trio, and deft violinist Jason Kao Hwang. At 10pm, percussionist Gerry Hemingway, Dresser's longtime colleague both in and out of a classic Anthony Braxton Quartet, joins the bassist behind the quietly mesmerizing saxophonist Earl Howard.
