Mary J. Blige + Jazmine Sullivan + Miguel + El DeBarge

Though she’s currently at work on the follow-up to last year’s Stronger with Each Tear, R&B queen Mary J. Blige is taking a break this month to hit the road for a U.S. trek, dubbed the Music Saved My Life Tour. That name suggests that we’re in for a preponderance of material from Blige’s latter-day albums, which have emphasized her triumph over strife as opposed to the strife itself. Along for the ride are L.A.-based newcomer Miguel, whose “All I Want Is You” exudes a cool throwback vibe; “Bust Your Windows” belter Jazmine Sullivan, softening the ground ahead of her sophomore disc, due next month; and back-in-action family-band veteran El DeBarge.
