Septuagenarian Mavis Staples has reinvented herself—indeed, the gospel veteran reworked her older material on a recent disc (with help from Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy). Excellent support at this Holiday Cheer for FUV show—a benefit for radio station WFUV—comes from young Seattle folkies the Head and the Heart and rootsy L.A. duo Dawes.
