Mephista

Individually, pianist Sylvie Courvoisier, percussionist Susie Ibarra and laptopper Ikue Mori are among the more distinctive musicians in the downtown scene, each equally capable of filigreed nuance and shattering power. Together, Mephista is a seamless unit with lightning reflexes; on a good night (and there are many), it's one of the most powerful bands in town.
