The Seattle punk band Murder City Devils can sometimes come off like a more raw and aggressive version of the Hold Steady, mainly due to its oddly theatrical bent and the rueful talk-shouting of frontman Spencer Moody. The group technically disbanded a few years back, but these days, it reassembles for shows whenever it damn well pleases. The Devils headline this week's Jelly Pool Party, which also features former Hot Snake Rick Froberg's current art-punk concern Obits, stoner-ish Nashville fuzz-pop duo Jeff the Brotherhood and Detroit's garagey Silverghost.
